NatWest Moves its Mortgage Rates

NatWest today announced that the Bank’s Standard Variable Mortgage Rate would increase by 0.30 per cent to 6.89 per cent. The rate change is effective from 14 August for new customers and from 1 September 2006 for existing customers.

It is also increasing the rate on its Offset Flexible Mortgage by 0.30 per cent to 5.65 per cent. The change in rates follows a review after the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision to increase rates by 0.25% earlier this month.

NatWest confirmed that its savings rates would remain under review.
