Essentials Contents Insurance
If you’re a student or living in rented accommodation, we can help protect your belongings by offering you a contents insurance policy aimed to meet your requirements.
NatWest Essentials contents insurance allows you to specify the level of cover you need, in order to cover the items most valuable to you – this means that you don’t pay for cover you don’t need.

- Cover available for individual items such as laptops, iPods, bicycles and mobile phones when taken outside the home.
- Easy to set up for students - we can set your policy up on your university address if you don’t know your residential address yet.
- One low excess of only £25, no matter what the value of your claim.
- Pay monthly at no extra cost (available where the equivalent annual premium is over £70 inclusive of insurance premium tax).
- Cover for walk-in theft (except money).
- Optional accidental damage cover available for your contents in the home.
- Vandalism cover included as standard.
- All policies include up to £50 cash in the home and £500 credit card misuse cover.
