I've just been made Power of Attorney, how can I register this with you?

Registering online

You can register a Power of Attorney (POA) online (UK residents only) by downloading and completing the form on our website and using the button at the end to submit it along with the scanned copies of:

  • Your full POA document
  • Photo ID (one form if you are a NatWest customer or two forms if you are not)
  • Selfie photographs of your front and side profile

Access the online form and guidance on submitting it on our Make a change to your account page(opens in a new window).

Registering in branch

You can also register a POA with us in one of our UK branches by completing the Add Power of Attorney to an Account (PDF, 105KB) form in advance and bringing it in, along with:

  • Your original full POA document or a copy certified by a solicitor
  • Two forms of photo ID

Please note, a Donor can certify a copy of their own POA document if they still have capacity to make decisions.

Non-UK Residents

If you reside overseas, please visit our How can I register a Power of Attorney (POA) with you if I live overseas? page.

Useful information

Some POA documents also contain certificates which we will also need to see, so please ensure that you include all parts of the document.

For more information, please visit our Power of Attorney page(opens in a new window).

For your photo ID see our list of acceptable forms of identification(opens in a new window).

It can take up to 10 working days for a POA to be added onto an account.
