Phil Lloyd
With over 20 years’ experience in fixed income markets, Phil has been a strong deliverer across a range of positions at NatWest, from corporate finance strategy, to trading/sales-level strategy, to regulatory readiness & change agent, balance sheet management and performance optimisation. To this end he has driven front-to-back implementation of multi-million-pound programmes sponsored by global stakeholders.
Phil has a track record of combining content-led customer engagement with customer analytics, managing the often-blurry lines between high and low-touch coverage across trading, financing and servicing. Automation has been a key node for Phil’s focus on NatWest’s largest NBFI customers as part of holistic relationship management.
Additional leadership positions include executive advisory on the strategy and realisation of post-GFC market reforms, including EMIR, MiFID, DFA, BREXIT and the transition to a post-LIBOR world globally, where Phil played a leading role with the Bank of England and public sector more broadly.
Phil maintains extensive engagement with market participants and regulators and is a frequent contributor to industry fora such as AFME, FMSB and IOSCO and UK Finance where he represents NatWest. Phil draws on this experience to ensure the optimal positioning of NatWest with its NBFI customers.
Phil has a Masters in Economics from the University of Nottingham, having achieved an undergraduate degree in Economic Analysis
Phil joined the bank in October 2002 and has been in his current position since January 2023.
