Loan to value is the ratio between the balance of your mortgage against the value of your property. You might be offered lower interest rates if you have a smaller balance to value ratio. For more information visit What is Loan to Value Ratio for Mortgages?

There are three main type of interest rates;

Fixed  rate mortgage - repayments have a fixed interest rate for a period of time.

Tracker mortgage – your interest will rise and fall in line with another interest rate – typically the Bank of England’s base rate – for a certain period of time. Please note that NatWest tracker mortgages will track the National Westminster Bank Plc's base rate.

Standard Variable Rate (SVR) – the interest rate that will be charged once an initial deal period on a fixed or tracker rate mortgage comes to an end. When on the SVR, your mortgage payments could change each month, going up or down depending on the rate.
