What is biometric approval?

It's an extra layer of security in our app that uses your face or voice to verify your identity.

You'll take a photo of yourself, which we'll encrypt and store securely in our database. You can then also record your voice and use it instead of face ID. When you use biometric approval, just put your face in the frame and follow the on-screen instructions.

This checks that you're a real person and helps stop fraud. It's a simpler way to manage your money and a handy alternative to your card reader.

Got the app?

You'll need our app on a phone with a front-facing camera and a working microphone to register. Follow these steps to set up your biometric approval.

  1. On the app, tap your initials icon in the top corner to get to My Profile.
  2. Tap Settings and then Biometric approval.
  3. Tap Manage biometrics and then select either Face or Voice.
  4. Follow the instructions on screen to register. You’ll need to register for face biometrics before you can register for voice.

We’ll ask you to turn on your notifications to let you know when you need to approve something. 

Keep your accounts safe when shopping online

Because of new banking regulations, we’ll ask you to confirm your identity and approve transactions more often. This improves online payment security and protects you from fraud.

When we need to check if it's really you, we'll ask you to open your app and review the transaction using your face ID, fingerprint, or passcode.

Trusted Beneficiary is a part of the regulation which lets you reduce how often you need to approve transactions. 

When you approve a transaction, we sometimes let you add the retailer to your trusted list. This means you won't always have to confirm your identity when you shop there.
