How long does it take for cheques to clear when paid in at the Post Office?
Cheques paid in at a Post Office will be added to your account when we receive them from the Post Office which is usually within two working days. Please note sometimes they might take a little longer to reach us.
The cheques will follow the normal cheque clearing cycle once we have received them from the Post Office.
Example for Paper Clearing Process:
- Pay in a cheque on Monday before the Post Office cut off time. We will usually receive it by Wednesday, the cheque value will appear on your statement by Thursday (with Wednesday's date), and funds will be available to withdraw by the following Tuesday.
- Pay in a cheque on Monday after the Post Office cut off time. We will usually receive it by Thursday, the cheque value will appear on your statement by Friday (with Thursday's date), and funds will be available to withdraw by the following Wednesday.
