How do I make an international payment using Online Banking? (Yes)
How to make an international payment using Online Banking:
- Select 'Payments & transfers' from the main menu
- Under the 'International payments' tab select ‘Pay one of your saved payees’, if you have multiple accounts you will need to select which account to pay from in the drop down
- Select the payee name from the drop down list
- In the ‘Amount to send in £' section complete the amount in either GBP or the local currency of the receiving country. Once the amount is entered select ‘Calculate exchange rate’ and ‘Next’ if you are ready to progress
- The next screen will ask you to confirm how fast you want it sent, and the relevant fee options. The website will give you a quote in pounds of how much it will cost in total. Once done, click ‘Next’.
- Enter the relevant details for the references on the next page
- You’ll be given a summary of all the information you have entered, please check that everything is fine before selecting ‘Make payment’

Please note: in some circumstances you may be asked to use your card-reader or mobile app before the online payment is made. These are:
- If you have not yet made a payment to the payee online
- If you need to change your existing message to the payee
